Key Responsibilities:
Design and Analysis:
- Develop structural designs for steelwork modules ensuring they meet all required specifications and standards pertinent to the oil and gas industry
- Use CAD software to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings of modules, including skids, pancake modules, pipe racks, and platforms
- Conduct finite element analyses (FEA) to validate the structural integrity of module designs under dynamic, static and pre-service load conditions
- Perform the pre-service analysis & design of modules including lifting, load-out, sea-transportation, grillage and sea-fastenings and road transportation
- Perform the analysis & design of modules for accidental load conditions, including fire and blast
Project Management:
- Lead and manage structural engineering projects from conception through completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives
Technical Expertise:
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in structural engineering and module design
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant Russian and International industry standards and regulations such as AISC, API, EN and ISO
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address potential structural failures
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and documentation for internal use and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in writing comprehensive technical reports/presentations with clear indication of basic data, assumptions, limitations, references, tracing of calculations, summary, and conclusions
- Capability to coordinate project engineering document production activities and review design documents prepared internally or by vendors
- Present findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural engineering within the oil and gas industry or similar heavy industries, with experience of at least one previous project where module design was undertaken
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ANSYS, SOFiSTiK)
- Strong knowledge of relevant international & Russian industry standards and regulations (e.g., AISC, API, EN & ISO etc)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- In-depth knowledge of key issues related to yard fabrication, erection activities, load-out, sea transport, and offshore installation of decks, modules, and onshore/offshore buildings
